This residential unit caters for adults with a moderate or profound learning disability, and meets all the requirements of the National Minimum
Standards and Care Homes Regulations 2001.
Care provision:
The care we provide is tailored to meet individual needs:
• Care is focused on helping individuals to reach their full potential and lead a fulfilling life
• Relaxation therapy forms part of the overall care e.g. reflexology (with an on site therapist), occupational therapy, a spa pool and multi-sensory room are all available on site in addition to swimming, horse riding, trampolining and access to social clubs
• Person Centred Planning is individually tailored to each Service User, with clear outcomes agreed at the outset
• Reviews are carried out regularly using a multi-disciplinary approach
Local Day Services:
Day Services form an integral part of the overall care package for all Service Users. A variety of day care includes;
media studies, leisure and recreation, educational and occupational skills and the development of hobbies and interests, plus these of an on-site spa pool. Community based activities such as leisure centres, specialist facilities and links with educational establishments will be
accessed where appropriate.
The Unit:
A purpose built unit for adults with a moderate or profound learning disability and complex needs, some of whom may suffer sensory impairment, self injurious behaviour and epilepsy The unit caters for a
maximum of 8 adults (aged 18+) of either sex.The unit is furnished to create a comfortable and homely environment
It offers safe and secure surroundings and is equipped with a full range of facilities including; en-suite bedrooms, kitchen,
lounges, dining room and a large garden
Location:
Colchester is linked by national rail network from London Liverpool Street (approximately 1 hour)
