Continuing Care Units (CCU)
Each of our physical environments is purpose built for the service provided.
The CCUs are designed and built to particularly high standards and are
robust yet domestic in style.
Our units offer safe and secure environments and are equipped with a full range of
facilities including en-suite bedrooms, comfortable lounges, dining and recreational
facilities including private gardens.
These units are staffed and equipped for the admission of adults with learning disabilities, who
may be detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 due to their mental disorder(s)
and/or challenging behaviour These include a few patients on Restriction Orders.
• Our staff are trained to manage aggressive behaviour safely
• Our philosophy is to control challenging and aggressive behaviour with the minimum use of physical intervention
Our decisions are based on clinical necessity and risk management
Specialist Residential Units
Our specialist residential services focus on the areas of:
• Challenging behaviour (developmental disorders)
• Autistic spectrum disorders
• Complex needs (for severely disabled individuals with additional sensory impairment, self injurious behaviour and epilepsy)
• Rehabilitation services (for Service Users who are ready to improve their integration into the community)
Each of the units are purpose built in terms of both physical environment and care provision.

Day Services
The Banyan Centre is our modern day service facility and provides a unique and valued
service to encourage people to lead a fulfilling life and maximise their potential. Each Service User has an
individually tailored programme of activities designed to enhance their skills whilst providing varied and enjoyable
experiences. The Centre is proud of its extensive resources which include a sensory room, computer room,
spa pool, multi-gym and much more. Programmes are designed to be innovative and exciting as well as
educational, with a mixture of activities at the Centre, in the community, and at a local college.
